The Power of Patience: Why Rushing to Judgement Can Backfire

Whether we want to be openly honest about it or just keep it between us gals, you and I as a whole have all been guilty of passing judgment on another woman. We have all collectively been there where we may have thought of the snarkiest remark towards her, thought, "Couldn't be me", or even snickered at how downright dumb she is reacting to her situation. We have judged, even without having a glimpse of the full picture.

How we view ourselves is and has always been a result of an interpretation of our life experiences. From birth through childhood, and upon entering adulthood. Every situation in our lives, whether negative or positive, has had an effect on how we view ourselves and how we allow others to view us. If you're an over-thinker, like myself, living in your head, picking yourself apart, we cause enough of a burden to ourselves without the additional weight of another's judgmental glares. For far too long, I've allowed fear of ridicule and judgment from peers, friends, and family to hinder me from embracing all I've grown to love, that is authentic to me.

Life isn't about pleasing your family; Life isn't about "shutting up and suffering in silence"; Life isn't about creating a shell of seclusion for yourself in avoidance of what others have to say about you. Life is about embracing yourself, staying true and authentic to self above all else. Let go of the fear of judgment. Let go of the fear of worry and doubt. If it isn't causing harm to yourself or another, what's wrong with being a little selfish with YOUR life?!

In closing, as the week trickles through us, what can you do this week to help uplift another woman? How might you be mindful of how something as simple as body language can come off as judgmental? Most importantly, how would you feel building up the strength to be vulnerable only to be judged?

Stay fierce, stay bold ~
